next Alappuzha (Kerala), Aug 21 (ANI): Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel on Tuesday rescued a patient through improvised floater in Chengannur’s Pandanad in Alappuzha district of Kerala. As Kerala battles its worst floods in a century, on August 18, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed that the death toll in the area has increased to 357. The Chief Minister further informed that the state has suffered a loss of Rs 19,512 crore due to floods. The Centre has announced an interim relief of Rs 500 crore against a demand of Rs 2,000 crore made by the state government.
